Dear Friends,

It’s 6:30 p.m. Do You Know Where Your Parishioners Are?

At this past Sunday’s annual meeting, as I watched four ministries (out of about 12+ ministries) highlight their activities during 2017 and tell us about 2018, I was absolutely blown away — the scope and depth about the way we (people at Epiphany) serve and minister to ourselves and others was astounding — people hard at work, deep in service, spreading God’s love!

What I understood about the things we do for others here at Epiphany was just a glimmer of things much greater. I was surprised to learn and discover how much MORE, I say again MORE our ministries do for us here at Epiphany and for those in our community near and far!

I say 12+ ministries, because while we have 12 ministries with relatively nicely defined areas of service, these 12 ministries do not include the other service work we do like Diocesan Council, the Fundraising Committee, hosting the Ordination ceremony and a wide array of ad-hoc service activities flying around at Epiphany. In addition, when you look at the Outreach Ministry, one of the 12, it has a large span of operation (Food Pantry, Food4Thought, Hypothermia Shelter, Hot Meals, and much more), as do some of our other 12 ministries.

Here is a visual analog of Epiphany at work. It is a graphic of the regularly scheduled planes in the sky over the continental U.S. at 6:30 p.m. this past Monday evening.

At this very moment and on any given day, people of Epiphany are on the move, hard at work, helping to build God’s kingdom right here, right now — meeting people where they are, spreading God’s love — not waiting for miracles, but making miracles happen.

You and I, each and every one of us with God’s help are making things happen – building God’s kingdom in the here and now!

It’s 6:30 p.m. Do you know where your parishioners are?

Blessings,
