Hypothermia Prevention Program 2026
As part of Fairfax County’s Hypothermia Prevention and Response Program administered by FACETS and carried out in partnership with local faith communities across the county, Epiphany opens its doors for a week each year to guests needing shelter in the cold months.
From January 11 – 18, 2026, Epiphany will be hosting 30+ housing-insecure people in our space. Guests will arrive at 5pm for a hot dinner, a warm place to sleep, breakfast, and a packed lunch to go. You can support this ministry with your time and/or treasure. Children under 16 cannot volunteer with the guests, but shopping with them is a wonderful way to get them engaged with helping others.

Program Facts:
- Over 30 faith communities participate in this effort from November through March each year.
- Guests are provided with not only shelter, but warm food, transportation, and entertainment.
- This is a 100% volunteer effort. We enable the program through the work of dedicated volunteers and donations – monetary, food, and other necessities.
- During the program, guests can interact with case managers and county healthcare professionals, with the goal of assisting them with rapid rehousing.
- It takes over 100 volunteers to make one week of the shelter a huge success!
