Worship Ministry

Through word (scripture and preaching), prayer, sacrament (outward and visible signs of inward and spiritual grace, as in baptism and Holy Communion, passing of the Peace), and music, we gather each week. We are a liturgical church which describes how we gather in our common worship of God. Liturgy is a word that comes from two Greek words. The first is Laos (Lit-), the word meaning people and from which we get the English word, laity, The second is Ergon (-urgy), the word meaning work and from which we get the English word, energy. It is the way we work together with God to experience the fullness of God’s love and the way God means the world to be.
