“Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.” Psalm 95:1
Dear Friends:
Please accept my apologies for this week’s delay in getting you the Hump Day message.
Hurricane Harvey and our responsibility in helping in the recovery is on our hearts, minds and souls. Keep those suffering from the devastation of this storm in your prayers. As time goes along Epiphany will look into how we can be a part of the recovery efforts. In the meantime, we can help now, especially through Episcopal Relief and Development, please reach out to: http://www.episcopalrelief.org/stories/hurricane-harvey-2017-what-can-i-do-to-help. Thank you for trusting in our God who brings healing grace to all in the storms of life.
This Sunday, the first Sunday of the month, plan to be with us for 8:30 a.m. Holy Eucharist, Rite I, 10:00 a.m. Holy Eucharist Rite II Family Worship and 5:30 Celtic Worship with sacred music and Holy Communion. This is a great week to invite family, friends and neighbors to be with Epiphany in worship! Mark your calendars for next Saturday September 9th from 5:00-8:00 for our Grow With Us Fall Kick Off! Fun for everyone!!!
Jane is very excited to tell you more about the music ministry of Epiphany:
With school returning and crisp air teasing our senses comes the excitement of new beginnings and an anticipation of renewal in our schedules and lives. This is true in the life of Epiphany and as I begin my 3rd fall as Music Minister, I am reminded of the excitement I feel for my role here in leading worship. In my time at Epiphany, I have been blessed with beautiful music, lasting friendships, ongoing education, and spiritual growth.
One part of my job is planning worship with Hillary and Jiji. I enjoy choosing hymns and songs that we can learn together as a congregation. We are a wonderful congregational choir! When we “sing out” together, I can hear such heavenly sounds coming from the chairs! It is glorious!
Our first fall rehearsal for Epiphany’s Adult Choir is this Thursday, August 31st at 7:30 PM. I invite you all to come and see what it is about. We will begin our rehearsal with vocal warm ups and then we will learn music that will be a part of worship on September 17th. We will be meeting in the choir room downstairs at the end of the hallway opposite Epiphany offices on this Thursday, and again on September 7th and 14th. All are welcome, no experience necessary! If you would prefer to learn the music in the comfort of your own home, go here and virtually rehearse! Videos of each part will be uploaded soon.
In addition, all children will be invited up to sing the prelude this Sunday for Family Worship – Jesus Loves the Little Children! And then we will have Children’s Choir rehearsals Sunday, Sept 10, 17, and 24 after worship in the library/vesting room. All children are welcome!
I look forward to growing the Music Ministry with you all and hope you will prayerfully consider joining the choir for the month of September. Try something new in this season of renewal and growth!
Singing in the spirit,
Jane
