September 17, 2025

My husband and I had been trying to conceive for years by the spring of 2020. I was feeling very depressed and looking for spiritual comfort, so I researched churches in the area that had Celtic services because I loved attending the Celtic service in my college town.

It was just before Lent, so I came for the early morning Ash Wednesday service, which took place in the little chapel room. I also signed up for the Lenten Reflection emails at that time. Suddenly, COVID-19 was upon us, and I felt more adrift and helpless than ever. My husband was an essential worker and contracted COVID-19 that March before there were vaccines, a treatment plan, or even a reliable test for it. After he recovered, I was looking for ways to cope with my helplessness, and I heard about the need for volunteers at the Food Pantry because much of that work relied on older people who were most at risk for COVID-19 complications.

So I started coming regularly on Mondays to help sort and prep the food for distribution. Through the pantry, I got to know the joint communities of Epiphany and CoF.

After my daughter was born, we wanted to arrange her baptism. It was then that Rev. Dina welcomed us formally into the community. We are thankful to be here!

The Stewardship Committee has prepared a six-week series to inform, encourage, celebrate, share, thank, and entertain. Come prepared each week in the season for fun and play as we envision God’s current and future work through us!
