He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.” Colossians 1:17

Dear Friends:

Real short today…by the time you read this the Faith, Hope and Love Haiti Mission Team will be on our way. We’ll have boarded a plane from Dulles at 6:00 a.m., onto Florida, then onto Haiti.

Please pray for the team: Susan Buckner, Morgan Buckner, Lindsay Jones, Madi Hsieh and Hillary West.

Pray for the good people of Haiti as well. As you know, there has been significant unrest in Haiti these last several weeks, especially since the Haitian government increased the fuel prices, causing riots, looting, roadblocks and threats to many. The tension has subsided significantly since the Haitian government chose to withdraw the fuel increases. Promise for Haiti, our hosting group on the Pignon, Haiti end assures us all is well. In fact, they will be meeting us in Florida to escort us into Cap Haitien and onto Pignon. We’ll hold Vacation Bible School for the children of Pignon, meet with families in the area to build relationships and “clean up” some neighboring territories. We feel very safe in Pignon.

On Sunday, here with Epiphany, please support Art Buck and Jiji Park in leading Morning Prayer at 8:30 a.m. worship.

On Sunday at 10:00 a.m. Holy Eucharist, The Rev. Kristine Johnson will be with Epiphany to preach and preside and to commission the Vacation Bible School teachers, leaders, mentors and kids! Come. Kristine will bless you with an excellent message as The David Series continues. Don’t forget your Bibles.

The mission team will return Friday July 20 at 1:00 a.m., grab a little sleep and some of us are jumping right in to help lead Vacation Bible School with Epiphany. We are a blessed people!

Keep the ship steady and thank you for the time away to witness God’s great kingdom at work in other parts of our world. As well, thank you for your belief in and support of Epiphany’s mission in Haiti.

God is good, all the time, God is good.

Blessings,

Hillary
