Let all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; let those who love your salvation say for ever, “Great is the Lord!”- Psalm 70:4

Dear Friends,

Holy Week is here! While we journey through a very emotional week, we will experience the horrendous ending with the wonderous! This past Palm Sunday we celebrated Jesus’ arrival into Jerusalem and witnessed Epiphany’s virtual Parade of the Palms. Thanks to everyone who submitted a picture! It was so good to see everyone’s faces!

As we progress through Holy Week, there are plenty of opportunities to participates in Christ’s journey to the cross. Join Epiphany in community as we celebrate our resurrected Lord!

To celebrate Christ’s sacrificial love given for us, faithful Christians gather together to share a meal of love, known as an agape meal. While we cannot join together physically at this time, we can join virtually! Join us tomorrow as we will come together for an Agape meal at 6 PM via Zoom. If you don’t feel like cooking, two local restaurants are ready to prepare your take-out meal:

  • Lebanese Kitchen – 13031 Lee Jackson Hwy, 703-378-5001
  • Sorrento Grill – 2443 G2 Centreville Road, 703-793-8030

Plan on staying after the meal for the Maundy Thursday Holy Eucharist & Stripping of the Alter at 7 PM via YouTube. This is a very moving service where we learn of Jesus’ acts of humility.

Good Friday’s All Day Solemn Collects begin at 7 AM via YouTube, with the evening Good Friday Liturgy service of the reading of the Solemn Collects, the Passion, music, and carrying of the cross live streamed on YouTube at 7 PM. Holy Saturday will be celebrated with our brothers and sisters of the Northern Fairfax Region in joint worship services at 8:30 AM via Zoom, with the Great Vigil of Easter scheduled for 7:30 PM, also via Zoom.

And finally, we celebrate our RISEN Lord on Easter Sunday with Holy Eucharist live streamed at 10 AM. I am so happy to be able to welcome a small group of folks back to the building. While we quickly filled our capacity and now are wait-listing attendees, if you sign up for the wait-list this week and we cannot accommodate you in person, you will have first preference for next week’s service. Please use the Sign-up Genius found here to make your reservation.

Be sure to be a part of Epiphany’s Easter Celebration by sending in your Alleluia videos! Grab your phone, turn it landscape (longways) and video yourself / family saying, “Alleluia, He is Risen, He is Risen indeed, Alleluia!” and/or “Happy Easter Epiphany!” Send your videos to commdir@EpiphanyEC.org.

Knowing that Jesus Christ died for our salvation, we can feel optimism in the air! Coming out of what feels like a long (and confined) winter and finally being able to enjoy the newest and freshness of spring, we feel optimistic for the months to come and we know that Jesus is with us! Great is our Lord! And remember God loves you. No exceptions!

Peace to you all,
