Dear Friends at Epiphany,

My name is Richard Fohrenbach. My wife Linda and I have been members of Epiphany since we moved here in May 2017. Originally from Connecticut, we moved here from South Carolina. Prior to that we lived in Los Altos California. We have two adult sons. Our older son, Ricky , lives in Lakeville MN with his husband Joe, and our younger son, Bobby, lives and works in Coral Gables, FL.

We love Epiphany for its friendly, open, inclusive spirituality. I like being a reader and my wife and I are ushers. We have friends here and we feel at home. We were here before the pandemic, we were here when services were ONLY online. Then we were ushers when reservations were required to ensure in person limits were adhered to. We experienced what it was like to lose personal contact weekly in church, but we also watched as provisions were made to stream the services.

Meanwhile, the whole country was in strife; pandemic panic, deaths, shortages, and political and racial divisions. But this church and its people persevered, we did have a place of sanctuary. We were graced with a new rector. We gradually returned to in person services but also added new equipment for better streaming.

When we are faced with hard issues– personal, parish-wide, state, national and global, it sure is good to have a place to go to. We offer thanks, we pray for ourselves and others. We light candles at monthly evening prayer services and ask God for help with special intentions. And when it was possible to again return to communion; what a joy! We experience the seasons of the year with our friends, we share their joys and sorrows. We watch children arrive, be baptized, grow up, go to school, smile and play. God is here and we are so glad to be here with all of you as well.

Blessings,

Richard Fohrenbach
