Meet the Epiphany Preschool!

by Sue Ferguson, Epiphany Preschool Director

Glory to God whose power, working in us, can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine: Glory to God from generation to generation in the Church, and in Christ Jesus forever and ever. Amen.
(Ephesians 3:20-21, BCP, 102)

The picture above is a cookie cutter used in the preschool for playdough.  If you were to answer the following question: What does this look like to you?….what might your answer be? If you are like most of the random poll of adults I asked you might say “some kind of flower.” According to one of our 4-year-old students, you are all wrong. It’s a muddy puddle of course! Do you see it now? Now that’s imagination!

Muddy puddle moments are what we live for at Epiphany Preschool. It is a place where we encourage imagination, exploration, and creativity in a safe and positive environment. If you were to visit the church building any weekday between 9:00am-1:00pm you would find future engineers, artists, musicians, writers….all working hard through play, building a foundation for future success in their school careers. Really, we can hardly IMAGINE all the paths our students will take once they move on from our program!

Epiphany Episcopal Church has a great outreach ministry with the preschool – serving so many families right in walking distance to the church. Just imagine what additional possibilities there are to serve together to benefit the surrounding community! We’d love some help to do just that.

We are seeking a couple of volunteers to serve as Parish Liaisons between the preschool and the church. What is the main task? Be an advocate within the congregation to help parish members become more familiar with the preschool ministry and help identify opportunities where the church and preschool can collaborate to advance outreach goals. Come imagine with us!

I invite you to contact me by phone or email, or come chat with me at fellowship this Sunday, October 1st after the service to learn more about the preschool ministry. I will be there to share what is happening at the preschool and how you can help!
