The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever. – Isaiah 40:8 (ESV)

Dear Friends,

The signs of Autumn are all around with the air becoming a little cooler, schools back session and the leaves turning colors and falling to the ground; But this year things are not the same with our lives. We have had to make changes to our lifestyles to keep each other safe and well. It’s important we keep the faith and do what we can to be kind to ourselves and others.

One thing is for sure: GOD is always with us.

We see it in our building and grounds as you drive by our church on the corner.  Several wonderful volunteers on a regular basis come to cut the grass, mulch and make sure that our grounds are always ready as our doors open for us to gather again.

We see it in our flower bed program and Buildings & Grounds task list, with the gardens being tended and completed maintenance items like walls being painted, lines painted in the parking lot, and the keeping of the building for our friends at New Hope Baptist Church, Epiphany Preschool, drive-in prayer services, and our parish regathering on a small scale in person. Also, in November, the building will be used by Fairfax County Office of Elections as a voting poll.

GOD is always with us.

Because of your faithful giving, Epiphany is blessed to have staff coming into our building each and every week. Mail is picked up, communications are sent out, and the production of our weekly service is live streamed. The Children, Youth and Family Ministry continues to surround our children and youth with the love and joy of Jesus. For all of this, we are so thankful.

GOD is always with us.

We are thankful for the Epiphany staff and for all of our ministries for their dedication and continued support week after week to keep Epiphany Episcopal open and thriving. Just because building usage is limited, the church is always open and GOD is always with us.

Every week through Zoom, Google Meets, and our online Worship services we show up virtually so that we don’t forget that we are the church on the corner. These virtual services have meant so much to me and my husband during this pandemic. Bill and I, having some underlying health issues, are able to be safe at home and still have access to the online church worship services. We are also able to continue our weekly online church involvement with the various ministries that we are involved in. Without the online options we would not be able to still feel connected to our church family and for this we are truly blessed.

So just remember the pumpkin spice in the fall, winter after that, and soon it will be Spring again. We will be together gathering in person and continue with our great works as God watches over us all. But above all, please remember, GOD is always with us.

Peace & Love,

Susan Forbes
